Classic comedy “Adam’s Rib” screening 15th June

Adam's Rib

Barossa Film Club presents classic comedy “Adam’s Rib” as its June screening.
In this 1949 comedy, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn play Adam and Amanda Bonner, a husband-and-wife attorney team who are drawn to a case of attempted murder. The defendant had attempted to shoot her husband and his mistress. Adam decides to work for the prosecution, while Amanda defends the accused woman. Matched by Garson Kanin’s witty, sophisticated screenplay, and directed by George Cukor, Spencer Tracey, Katherine Hepburn and Judy Holliday, among the greatest stars of twentieth century film, are all in top form in this classic comedy. This is regarded by many as amongst the “must-see” films of our time, and probably the best of the legendary nine films made by Hepburn and Tracey.
Screening will commence at 7.30 pm on Friday 15th May with short Australian film “Nice Shootin’, Cowboy” , followed by “Adam’s Rib” after a break for refreshments, at Faith College Wine Centre. All members are welcome, and membership is available at the door. Further details are available from President Imelda Carson on 8564 8225, or on Facebook.
