High rating for Australian film

A good crowd of members and visitors gathered for the showing of the Australian film “Lonely Hearts”. It was an excellent screening with some very fine actors and excellent direction by Paul Cox. This was one of those films that gives Australian style of film-making a unique character and a voice for the Australian outlook on life.
Undoubtedly almost everybody there agreed and gave it an average rating of 4 out of 5, one of the highest scores we have recorded.
Members of the audience were asked to record their ideas of suitable films for showing next season to assist the selection committee in its deliberations later this year, and there have been some very interesting suggestions so far.
